We embarked on our weekend at Loyd Park a bit later than usual, arriving at 5 p.m. on Friday. The evening kicked off with a relaxing cocktail hour, followed by a brief walk to soak in the serene surroundings before indulging in a Date Night dinner of grilled steak, baked potato, and steamed broccoli.
Saturday morning found us engaged in our typical pursuits: reading The New York Times while sipping on Bloody Marys, a ritual that combined relaxation with a touch of productivity as we also tied up some loose ends at work. We then enjoyed a hearty brunch followed by a rejuvenating nap. As evening approached, we had cocktails with our evening news, and eventually made our way to visit friends Scott and Denise at their neighboring site. It was wonderful to catch up and share stories before returning to Cloud 9 for a campfire and supper. Chef Cliff prepared grilled pork chops, cob corn, and ranch-style beans, a meal that was both hearty and satisfying. The night concluded with a cozy binge-watching session of three episodes of “The West Wing,” a perfect end to a perfect day.
Sunday continued our leisurely weekend. We spent the morning reading The New York Times and watching our favorite morning shows. Bloody Marys were once again the drink of choice, adding a festive touch to our morning routine. We also enjoyed a visit from our friend, Scott, making the day even more special.
Our weekend at Loyd Park was a wonderful blend of relaxation, good food, and great company. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and we can’t wait for our next adventure two weeks hence.
