Finally, we’re taking the Airstream for a long-needed bath! It’s been stored since our return from Yosemite in May.
Although we’ve made several visits to restock, remodel and replenish, we haven’t been able to tend to the bugs and tar and grime from our nearly 3,000-mile adventure. So we’re taking it to our favorite backyard state park (Cedar Hill) for some much-needed maintenance. That includes a thorough washing, followed by applying a protectant to its most vulnerable materials, such as rubber and plastic parts. We’ll also conduct complete checks of every system to make sure we’re good to go. Afterward, we’ll take it to its new covered home, which should help reduce its exposure to damaging ultraviolet rays.
So, we’re about to embark on a working weekend. But whenever you can measure your progress, it’s good!
